Surprisingly Unhealthy Foods

You don’t have to count on an expert in diet and fitness in Los Angeles to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle conducive to dropping the weight you’re looking to lose.  There’s plenty of information out there on how to eat right and live right in your everyday life. However, the fact remains that there is also plenty of misinformation out there as well. Any advice that you aren’t getting directly from a doctor or a professional who works at health or fitness retreats should be taken with a grain of salt.

There are plenty of dieting misconceptions out there. Here are four foods that aren’t as healthy as you might think.

* Granola might be seen as the snack food of choice for health junkies, but it’s actually full of sugar and fat, making it a poor choice for those who are looking to lose weight.
* Salad itself might be healthy, but all the stuff that people put on top of it isn’t. Try to make your own salads and leave off the fatty dressing for a taste that’s more weight loss summer camp than fast food.
* Yogurt isn’t a bad food — unless it’s packed with fat and sugar. Look for low-fat varieties.
* Smoothies can have as many calories as a milkshake — not the best way to get fruit.
