The best time to shop for shoes is late in the day. Your feet will have swollen from walking over the course of the day, and good exercise shoes should be sized to your foot’s maximum. Bring along your exercise socks and any inserts that you wear for exercise. Good shoes shouldn’t need to be "broken in".
