Common Mistakes Made in Following a Diet
At some point of time or the other, people tend to go on a diet for some reason whether it is to drop several pounds or just cut back on unhealthy eating. While some people are on a diet, there is a tendency to make mistakes that should otherwise be avoided.
So here is a list of common mistakes that you should avoid when going on a diet.
Mistake #1: Crash diets
If there is anything that you must understand about weight loss, it is the fact that you can expect anything but quick results. If you do go for one of these diets, the number of calories that you consume for the duration of the diet will be much less than 1000 calories, resulting in the slowing down of the body’s metabolism. Once you complete the duration of the diet, you can be sure that with the consumption of food that goes over 1000 calories, you will end up gaining more weight than ever.
Mistake #2: Skipping breakfast
Do not even think that skipping breakfast will help you lose weight. In fact, it results in just the opposite. Unfortunately in doing this, you will tend to overcompensate at lunch and dinner that will, again, result in weight gain.
Mistake #3: Not drinking water
Since consuming water tends to burn calories, this results in weight loss. But in not drinking enough water, the body’s metabolism slows down, thus making the body turn to ‘conservation mode’. With this mode turned on, the body then stores fat as a natural response causing the individual to gain weight.
