Diindolylmethane: A cure for cancer
DIM has recently been found to be one of the compounds to alleviate issues with cancer as well as a plethora of viral and bacteria-related illnesses. While clinical trials and the compound finds itself in slew of testing phases here and there, it should be interesting to determine the source of this compound that is making waves in the medical community.
Also known as Diindolylmethane, it is found in vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale and so on and so forth, primarily belonging to the Brassica family. This is the reason why researchers attribute the properties of this compound to the ‘Brassica effect’.
At a completely different level altogether, this compound along with Selenium and Sulforaphane are known to be key health promoting compounds, and work together as an immune system booster apart from a host of other benefits that can be gained from taking a combination of these three compounds either by regularly eating the aforementioned green vegetables or taking it as a dietary supplement which provides maximum results.
So while researchers are trying to make best use of the compound (DIM), one can lower the risk of obtaining cancer as well as a host of related diseases by taking this as a dietary supplement. One will find that this medication has no synthetic content but is 100% natural as well.
